Who We Are

Empowering Communities, Conserving Echuya Forest

Founded in July 2020 by Kankyimusimire Elizabeth, the International Conservationist Echuya Organization (ICEO) works with Batwa and local communities around Echuya Forest in Rubanda District, Uganda. We conserve biodiversity through sustainable tourism, education, and climate-friendly farming while empowering vulnerable families especially women, youth, and children to build resilient livelihoods and protect their environment.

Our Mission: is provide support to communities in the pursuit of identifying life choice options that enhance their opportunities for livelihoods and independence.

Our Vision: is to empower communities through empowerment to lead successful families and strong communities able address real issues confronting their livelihoods and conservation of the environment.

Our Goal:  is to eradicate poverty through empowering youth and vulnerable people to promote conservation or the environment.


Our Objectives:

-To provide education scholarships for the vulnerable children 

-To promote tourism among the communities

-To support vulnerable people in establishment of livelihood enterprises

-To provide affordable houses to communities 

-To promote skills and woman empowerment

-To promote climate change mitigation
