π TOURISM EXPERIENCES
01. Community Walk
Explore the community around Echuya on foot. Visit basket weavers, local
schools, and enjoy Batwa and non-Batwa cultural dances after visiting their
homes.
02. Bird Watching
Discover 152 bird species (18 Albertine Rift endemics) including
Warblers, Rwenzori Batis, Archers Robin-chat, and Turacos β a paradise for bird
lovers.
03. Nature Walk
Walk through Echuyaβs bamboo-rich forest, home to unique plant
and animal species β an untouched treasure of biodiversity.
04. Boat Cruise
Enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi with stunning views of the
Echuya community and the Kigezi highlands.
05. Hiking
Hike through the Kigezi hills and valleys, taking in views of Lake
Bunyonyi, Virunga mountains, and Echuya Forest Reserve (6β7
hours).
06. Cave Visit
Visit Echuya Cave, once a Batwa shelter and hiding place during
tribal wars and the liberation struggles of Uganda.
07. Batwa Forest Experience
A unique cultural experience depicting Batwa survival skills:- Hunting
